Queen doesn’t want ‘family conflict at this stage of her reign’ insider claims – Woman & Home

March 25, 2021 By Leave a Comment

The Queen reportedly won’t be wanting any “family conflict at this stage of her reign” while everything was “falling on to her shoulders” in recent times.

The Queen has faced a challenging time recently, with her grandson Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Oprah Winfrey interview shocking viewers across the world. The couple’s ‘tell-all’ special aired not long after the monarch’s beloved husband, Prince Philip, was admitted to King Edward VII’s Hospital as a “precautionary measure” after feeling unwell.

The Duke of Edinburgh spent several weeks in hospital and is said to have undergone a successful procedure at St Bartholomew’s Hospital for a pre-existing heart condition. He later returned to King Edward VII’s where he recuperated before leaving and reuniting with the Queen at Windsor Castle on 16th March.

Throughout his hospital stay, the Queen continued to carry out her royal duties. This included responding to Harry and Meghan’s interview and starting to work through the aftermath. Now it’s been claimed that during this time everything was “falling on to her shoulders” and she won’t want “family conflict” at this point in her reign.

More from woman&home:

As reported by PEOPLE, a royal insider told them that, “What she won’t want is family conflict at this stage of her reign.

“She is always head of the country and Prince Philip was always head of the family,” the insider went on to add. “He is not there to be that—so everything is falling on to her shoulders. It must be an incredibly lonely place to be.”

During the astonishing Oprah interview, Prince Harry discussed his belief that Prince Charles and Prince William are “trapped” in the institution. Meghan claimed that an unnamed member of the Royal Family commented on their son Archie’s skin color before he was born.

Since the interview was broadcast, Buckingham Palace issued a concise statement, which went on to say that, “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved family members.”

Prince Harry has now reportedly spoken to his brother and father, although these talks were thought to be “not productive”. Prince Charles even reportedly wanted to issue a detailed “point by point” palace response to the claims made.

Although the interview has certainly made an impact on the Royal Family, the Queen will undoubtedly be hoping to see her loved ones grow closer once again as she looks ahead to her Platinum Jubilee next year.
