Hello and welcome along to live coverage of round two of Chelsea against Leicester as the Saturday’s FA Cup-winning Foxes take on the Blues once again but this time in the Premier League.
The race for the top four is going down to the wire with the Blues having just a one-point cushion over Liverpool in fifth with two games to go. The Reds’ late win at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday has piled the pressure back on Chelsea to get a result at Stamford Bridge.
As we know, it will not be an easy task with Brendan Rodgers’ side arriving in west London on cloud nine following their win over Thomas Tuchel’s men in Saturday’s FA Cup final.
Chelsea have lost back-to-back games for the first time since Tuchel took charge and need to bounce back from the disappointment of Saturday’s defeat quickly to get their campaign back on track with two matches left in the league and, of course, the Champions League final later this month against Manchester City.
Surprisingly, no injury news was given out by Tuchel at his pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon to preview the game. Andreas Christensen and Mateo Kovacic are both pushing for a return after injury, especially the latter.
The likes of Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic and Ben Chilwell are all targeting starts after missing out from the off at Wembley as Tuchel could make changes but not too many, having come a cropper when he did so against Arsenal a week ago.
We will have all the build-up, match action and post-match reaction from tonight’s big game at Stamford Bridge with our Chelsea writers Sam Inkersole and Adam Newson so don’t go anywhere for the next few hours.
