Barcelona have been missing Luis Suarez’s finishing up top a lot and have thus decided that they need to bring in a prolific striker next season. The player who has impressed president Joan Laporta the most is Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland. Laporta is fixated on the player and intends to bring him to the Camp Nou through any means necessary.
More from Everything Barca
The 20-year-old Norwegian striker is Europe’s biggest sensation at the moment and has a huge price tag of 180 million euros. This enormous price tag is too much for the Catalans to afford at the moment however, according to reports from Marca, Laporta is ready to meet the players’ demands.
Haaland, his agent, Mino Raiola, and his father, Alf-Inge Haaland, went to speak with the Barcelona president on Thursday in Catalonia. Laporta understands that the player is in high demand and that many clubs will be bidding for him however, he left the meeting feeling positive about their chances of signing the striker. Laporta’s relationship with Raiola could also affect the deal positively for the Catalan kings.
Barcelona face heavy competition for Erling Haaland
On the other side of Europe, the Italian side, Juventus are also trying to sign the player. English clubs such as Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool will all be bidding on the player thus, it will be very interesting to see exactly where the player lands up at the end of the season.
Apart from Haaland, Barca’s coach, Ronald Koeman also has the option of signing Memphis Depay and Sergio Aguero, both of whom will be out of contracts at the end of the season and would arrive at the club for free.
